Dial 803-804-3541 if You See a Honeybee Swarm!

honeybee swarm

It’s that time of year again for Honeybee Swarms! Honeybees are leaving their hives to make new homes in other places and, when they leave, they land and rest for a while on something near their hive….sometimes in a tree, sometimes on a mailbox, or a fence post….bees do what bees do! Please give me a call at 803-804-3541 and I’ll come wrangle them bees for ya at no charge to you. It’s Mother Nature’s gift to the beekeeper, and I’m happy to accept it! šŸ™‚

New Peeps on Fox Trot Farm!

Just when we are overloaded with cuteness here on Fox Trot Farm, I get a call from the post office bright and early this morning to tell me there isĀ a box of peeps waiting for me to pick up! I jumped in the trusty old SubaruĀ and hit the road. The minute I walked into the post office lobby I could hear peeping, such a joyful sound in a government building!

Back at the farm, Farmer Bob helped me get the brooder box he made me in place, and I moved the adorable little (noisy) balls of fluff into their nursery. Here they are, all cozy and warm under their heat lamp, taking turns eating and drinking already. Continue Reading →

Happy Easter!

Easter Hide the Kids

Easter brings back precious memories from childhood…new ruffle socks and patent leather white Mary Jane shoes, a stiff and itchy crinoline under my new dress, white gloves with tiny pearl buttons on my hands clutching my little purse, Easter egg hunts, dinner after church of roasted ham, spinach salad with hot bacon dressing, pickled red beets and eggs, and my grandmother’s lemon sponge pie. I hope you have a wonderful day and make lots of good memories for your families, too.

Friday Scenes from the Farm

This has been a busy and exciting week for us here on Fox Trot Farm, so it was a challengeĀ for me to decide just which photos to share with you Ā because they are all wonderful representations of all the blessings we have here on our country farm. From our visitors to baby lambs to new spring growth popping, my camera was busy all week!Ā I’m going to share lots of photos today, so sit back and relax and see what’s going on in the country this first week of Spring. Some of our Cutest Lamb Customers

Farmer Bob and I had a great weekend, with lots of visitors buying our packagedĀ lamb. In fact, we’re sold out of many cuts already, so a big “thank you” to our customers. (To find out what packaged lamb cuts we have left in stock, please visit our Market page.)Ā

Speaking of our customers, someĀ came from as far away as Columbia and Statesville, and even closer fromĀ Lancaster and Waxhaw. Although we enjoyed everyone’sĀ visits, you might say that these were the customers who won our hearts this weekend. Look at the pictures and you’ll understand.Ā  Continue Reading →

The EZ Life

After all the rain came the wind and, at last, a sunny day. That means it’s time to clean out the hen houses!

I don’t know what I ever did before Farmer Bob got me my EZGOĀ golf cart. It makes my life much more EZ than it used to be. I can’t imagine hauling all this litter out in a wheel barrow. This baby even has a hydraulic lift, electric start, and gasoline engine. Check out the nubby tires!
