Sunday Funday Tours on the Farm

Almost every Sunday is Funday on Fox Trot Farm, but last weekend we had 292 visitors having fun on our farm for our county’s annual  Ag+Art Tour! Wow! Farmer Bob and I were thrilled to make new friends and see so many old ones again. I was so busy that I barely had time to snap any photos! Here are a few:

Farmer Bob and his hay wagon were busy the entire time! He used his big red tractor to haul loads of happy visitors to the footbridge to the Back Forty trails, then brought back another group. Round and round they went, back and forth! Lots of people visited the animals, scratched ears and backs, and then went for their hay wagon ride through the woods to the Back Forty.

AprilDawn Catoe Anderson was our resident artist. She did the lovely paintings. Her husband does the turned wooden bowls. One of those beautiful bowls has a proud home in our kitchen now!

AprilDawn’s mother, Sheranna, is a published author, and she came with her books to sell. Here she is between two of our friends. We appreciated so much that many of our friends came out to support her, AprilDawn, and our small farm.

Farmer Bob set up his vintage tractor for children to be able to climb onto and get their picture taken, and lots of them did!

Children loved operating the antique hand crank corn sheller!

And so did adults!

“Granny Bee” baked honey drop cookies, and they were a hit! Here are two darling little boys enjoying some cookies.

At the end of the day Sunday, one of our neighbors and his children and friends came by. Farmer Bob was getting a drink from the garden hose and the kids had to give it a try. Before long, they were all getting wet and having a ball.

I think Farmer Bob laughed hardest of all!

We’ll be open this coming Sunday from 1:00-5:00, and will have all the same adventures available, including the easy hiking trails to the old pond on the Back Forty, the hay wagon ride tour, and also self-guided tours. All tours are still just $5 each. In the farm market will be honey, soap, and hand crafted treasures. We look forward to your visit! 5066 Rowell RD, Lancaster.
