***We’ll be closed till July 15th, when our regular market hours will return: Sundays from 2:00-5:00 with a guided tour at 2:00!***
A couple weekends ago, we participated in the state-wide Ag+Art Tour. It was the first time for our farm to be on the tour and we needed a lot of help since strangers would be coming to the farm throughout the weekend. We are so blessed with good friends who answered the call and volunteered to help us with our visitors! We threw a “thank you” cookout and fishing day for them and their families, and we all had a great time!
Farmer Bob grilled great burgers and hot dogs, and I made my “company” baked beans, slaw, deviled eggs, and my favorite chocolate-peanut butter cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Ed and his son came for the burgers, but mostly for the fishing! They were the first down at the pond and caught a big bass with the first cast!
These three caught more than 40 fish! Wow!
What a beautiful day we had! The temp was in the 80s and there was a nice breeze all day.
Not everyone could come, so we’ll be having another cookout when the rest of our volunteers are in town. We love having visitors come to the farm, and we love sharing the farm with friends.
On another note, getting ready for the Ag+Art Tour was a HUGE amount of work and I took a hiatus from our farm blog. I hope to do better now that we’re sliding back into a more normal routine and have gotten SO many of our major projects finished. There are still a LOT of projects left on our list, but that’s life on the farm. Stay tuned for updates!
