Farmer Bob’s Favorite Sausage Gravy (for over buttermilk biscuits)
1 lb. of your favorite sausage (we LOVE hot sausage, but any kind you like will do)
1/3 cup flour
2 cups hot water
1 can evaporated milk
Brown sausage in a skillet, breaking it up into small pieces as you go. Drain grease well.
Stir 1/3 cup flour into sausage in skillet until dissolved.
Add 2 cups hot water and simmer, stirring often, till thick.
Pour in entire can of evaporated milk. Stir and simmer till thick. Add some water if it thickens too much as you wait for everyone to come to the table.
Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
Serve over Farmer Bob’s Favorite Buttermilk Biscuits!
